%X Models for atmospheric and topographic correction have been proposed aiming to reduce some negative aspects of the remote sensing images. In this work, we used two atmospheric correction models (DOS and FLAASH) and two topographic correction models (SCS and Minnaert) to get some insights about characteristics of orbital images after the application of these models. The results showed that the use of Minnaert and DOS models together causes the reduction of the intraclass variability, which enhance the classification for thematic classes extraction. It was observed that the SCS model is not suitable for the intraclass variability reduction, once the radiances values of the corrected images are highly correlated to the numerator of the equation applied in this model and poorly correlated to the denominator of the same equation. The spectral behavior of vegetation was obtained for the images after the use of the models and it was observed that, in general, there is correspondence between this behavior and that presented in the literature.
